TWO Priests of the Catholic Church, Reverend Father Mathew David Dusami, a priest with Yola Catholic Diocese, and Reverend Father Abraham Samman of Jalingo Diocese, have been kidnapped by yet-to-be-identified gunmen.
This was confirmed by the Commissioner of Police, Adamawa State Command, CP Dankombo Morris.
CP Morris said the incident occurred at the residence of one of the priests situated at Gwaida Malam in Numan Local Government Area of the state, when the kidnappers, who were reportedly armed with dangerous weapons, arrived at the victims’ house around 4 am before whisking them away.
He condemned the incident in strong terms.
“This unprovoked kidnapping of religious leaders is totally unacceptable as they are not only stakeholders but also people who are actively working to promote peace in the society,” the CP said.
