A United Kingdom-based Nigerian lady, identified as Mkpouto Pius, has revealed that authorities of Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) have approached expelled 300-level student in the Department of History and International Studies, Goddy-Mbakwe Chimamaka Precious, to publicly apologise and be re-admitted into the school.
The lady, simply identified as Mkpouto Pius, further claimed that the authorities of UNIZIK are insisting that all Goddy-Mbakwe Chimamaka Precious needed to do is release a public video apologising and they will take her back.
While pointing out that contrary to what many may think, the lady isn’t breaking down over her expulsion; rather, she’s fine, and that her family members are solidly behind her.
She also disclosed that she offered her support to find a scholarship abroad after being kicked out of UNIZIK.
Her words:
Follow social media noise at your own risk.
As people are here shouting about how UNIZIK did a good thing to expel that female student, and how she embarrassed her family…
I spoke to the lady and …
1) The back story is so different from the tiny clip circulating on social media
2) The girl is not breaking down and dying. She’s very fine.
3) Her family is solidly behind her.
When I offered to support her to find a scholarship abroad, her response was “Let me speak to my parents”.
… and a few minutes after she came back to tell me her parents were on board with the idea.
4) The university has been calling her parents, asking her to come and apologize and they will rescind the suspension and take her back
😂😂😂😂😂
Nigerians are such dramatic people
The university knows that their lecturer harassed that girl, and that’s why they are trying so hard to save face.
They are insisting that all she needs to do is release a public video apologising and they will take her back.
Apologize for what?
He should be the one apologising for touching her first.
Her parents are not having it. They’ve said she will not apologise …
… and the university is saying her friend can do it on her behalf.
… they just want a public apology so that it can seem like she acknowledged her wrong and they took her back.
This would be the perfect opportunity to lawyer up and sue that damn school!
That school definitely knows they have messed up by supporting the harassment of a student captured on tape.
Go to court and let’s argue self-defence and see if that lecturer would ever win that case.
Goddy-Mbakwe Chimamaka Precious was last Thursday expelled from UNIZIK following a brawl she had with a lecturer of the institution, Dr Chukwudi Okoye, a lecturer in the Department of Theatre Arts and Film Studies during a TikTok live video recording.
A memo addressed to the irascible student dated Thursday 13 February 2025 and signed by Mr. Victor I. Modebelu, acting Registrar of the institution, says the Ag. Vice-Chancellor has, on behalf of the university senate, approved the recommendations of a disciplinary committee that she be expelled.
