GALATASARAY FC’s new sensation, Victor Osimhen, will not be available for his new team for at least six weeks. This also means that the forward is out of contention for the doubleheader between Nigeria’s Super Eagles and their Libya counterparts in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier.
Osimhen was left out of the UEFA Europa League clash against Latvian side FK Rīgas Futbola Skola tonight due to an injury that forced him out of Galatasaray’s Super Lig 1 game against Kenneth Omeruo’s Kasimpasa last weekend. However, he had earlier stated that it was not something serious but rather a discomfort.
His absence from the Super Eagles will be a litmus test for Augustine Eguavon, Super Eagles interim coach, to prove he can thrive where his former teammate Finidi struggled.
