FORMER Vice President Atiku Abubakar on Monday led a delegation to meet with his former boss, ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo, at the hilltop residence of the former Nigerian leader in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.
The Adamawa State-born politician was accompanied by former governor of Cross River State, Liyel Imoke and Senator Aminu Tambuwal, who is a former governor of Sokoto State and former Speaker of the House of Representatives.
The agenda of the meeting was not known as of press time, but it comes amid plans by opposition politicians to map out strategies to trounce the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and win the 2027 presidential election.
Meanwhile, after about two hours of the meeting with his former boss, Alhaji Abubakar Atiku declared to journalists who enquired from him about the basis of his visit to Chief Obasanjo ” that I am not here for politics”
Atiku, alongside others and Senator Abdul Ahmed Ningi, arrived at the OOPL Pent House at 12 noon.
The former presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the 2023 Presidential Election added that he was only on a courtesy visit to his former boss.
Also in Atiku’s entourage was Otunba Babatunde Fasawe, a close ally of Chief Olusegun Obasanjo.
