THE Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Lagos State Command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin has given an update on the search that was conducted at the house of Seun Kuti following his arrest and subsequent arraignment in court on an allegation of assaulting a police officer.
SP Hundeyin while reacting to the search conducted on the Allen Avenue home of the son of the renowned Afrobeat musician, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti revealed that the police obtained a search warrant before carrying out the search of the property and that they ab initio found some suspicious things during their investigation.
He made this known on Twitter after a Twitter user identified as Seun Osewa said that searching Seun Kuti’s house and seizing his wife’s phone was bad publicity for the police.
Responding to the tweet, SP Hundeyin said, “In the course of our investigation, we stumbled on certain suspicious things that needed to be proven/disproved beyond a reasonable doubt.”
“We, therefore, applied for and duly got a search warrant from the court, which we have executed. Investigation continues”, the police officer, who has come under severe attack following his handling of the case, stated.
