The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has said it has printed Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) up to the 14th of January 2022 and delivered the same to all the states of the federation for collection by registered voters.
In a release in response to the allegation of discovery of PVCs in inappropriate locations, it said that the Commission is reviewing the procedure of collection of PVCs by registered voters to make it less cumbersome and more transparent.
The release signed by Festus Okoye Esq., National Commissioner and Chairman of Information and Voter Education Committee, enjoined those who found the alleged buried PVCs to the nearest state or local government area office of the Commission.
On the alleged buried PVCs, the Commission said it has commenced an investigation and “anyone found culpable in this diabolical scheme clearly intended to disenfranchise Nigerians will be sanctioned under the law. Every eligible Nigerian who registered as a voter is entitled to his/her PVC.”
