…Minister’s Absence At Tinubu’s 73 Birthday Events Lends Credence To Collapse Rumours
THE conspicuous absence of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, at the Special Iftar and prayers for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the occasion of his 73rd birthday at the Presidential Villa Abuja on Saturday appears to lend credence to reports that the former Rivers State governor may not be in a good state of health despite denial by his media aide.
Present at the event were ministers, state governors, members of the National Assembly and other top government officials.

Social media was on Friday awash with unconfirmed reports that Mr Wike collapsed at an event and was rushed to an undisclosed hospital where he was later flown abroad.
The report:
Wike Collapses In Abuja Meeting Due To Excessive Alcohol, Diagnosed With Partial Stroke
Former Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, reportedly collapsed during a meeting in Abuja due to excessive alcohol consumption. Doctors have confirmed that this has led to a partial stroke, and he has been rushed to France for urgent medical treatment.
Drama unfolded at the Abuja meeting as Wike suddenly collapsed and was immediately taken to the State House Clinic, where doctors detected a high level of alcohol in his system, which they say triggered the stroke.
Medical experts have warned that his condition may be irreversible, stating that he might never be able to stand again. In response to the severity of the situation, he was quickly flown to a hospital in France for advanced medical care.
ASAWANA will die don collapse finally.

But reacting to the report, Lere Olayinka, the Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media to the Minister debunked it described as ‘fake news’.
As of the time of filling this report, no reason has been adduced for the absence of the Minister who has in the last few years been engaged in a fratricidal battle with the now-suspended Rivers State governor, Sir Siminalaye Fubara.
