In what may be termed a rehash of the 2014 epoch leading to the victory of the All Progressives Congress (APC), governors of Rivers, Oyo, Enugu, and Abia have pulled out of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential campaign council pending the resignation of the party’s chairman, Iyorchia Ayu.
Others who attended the meeting include Former governors of Cross River and Ondo, Donald Duke and Olusegun Mimiko.
Rising from their meeting in Port Harcourt on Wednesday morning, members of the team pledged not to participate in Atiku Abubakar, the Presidential candidate of the PDP’s campaign activities pending the resignation of the party’s National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu.
Some notable figures at Wednesday’s meeting are Nyesom Wike, governor of Rivers State; Mr Seyi Makinde, governor of Oyo State; Olusegun Mimiko, former governor of Ondo State; Chief Bode George, former Deputy National Chairman of the PDP; Mr Ayo Fayose, former governor of Ekiti State; Mr Donald Duke, former governor of Cross River State; Ibrahim Dakwambo, former governor of Gombe State; Jonah Jang, former governor of Plateau State; Mohammed Adoke, former Attorney-General and Minister of Justice; Professor Jerry Gana, former Minister of Information and National Orientation; Dan Orbih

Eighteen-Eleven Media recalls that five serving governors of the PDP in December 2013 defected to the then opposition APC. That action has been interpreted as being mainly accountable for the victory of the APC in the 2015 presidential election.
