FORMER governor of Rivers State and now Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike has accused human rights activist and lawyer, Mr Mike Ozekhome of protecting election riggers.
Minister Wike, who made this accusation during a lecture on “25 Years of Nigeria’s Democracy: Prospects and Possibility” which was uploaded online by CHANNELS TV, tackled Mr Ozekhome for not speaking about the achievements of Nigeria since it became a democratic country.
According to Mr Wike, “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu cannot transform Nigeria under one year,” adding that he has promised to renew the hope of Nigerians and he is working on delivering such a promise.
However, Nyesom Wike on speaking to Mike Ozekhome, stated that;
“Activists have always failed, we have seen activists that were given appointments and yet they failed. You have said something about rigging elections, as an activist how many times have you rejected brief? Those who have rigged the elections you have always defended them. It’s not about coming here to pontificate every time.”
