RENOWNED Nigerian musician, Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has lost his mother.
The entertainment industry and fans alike have now been thrown into a state of mourning. Reports from a close associate of the Grammy award-winning singer, songwriter, and performer confirmed that the singer lost his mother in the early hours of today, Friday, 18 August 2023.”
Also, Sunday Aare, Wizkid’s longtime manager said Mrs Balogun died in the early hours of Friday.
‘Yes, she died this morning, at about 1.30 am”, Sunday Aaare said.
Wizkid’s mum, Jane Morayo Balogun, a formidable cornerstone of strength, lent unwavering backing to her son’s meteoric rise in the industry. 
Her steadfast support was a familiar sight on the periphery of concerts and events.
The late Mrs. Balogun is also the mother to two other children, Yetunde Balogun and Lade Balogun.
