IN his determination to continue to positively impact the lives of people and make life more conducive, the Oluwole Omofemi Foundation has provided free medical checks up, food items, cash gifts, among others as palliative to widows, vulnerable persons and the aged in Ekotedo community in Ibadan, Oyo State as a means to cushion the biting effect of economy downturn being faced by Nigerians.
Eighteen-Eleven Media reports that this yearly event comes up every 24th of December at 19 Ayorinde Street, Behind Lekan Salami Stadium Complex, Adamasingba, Ibadan.
As expected, this year’s edition took place on Tuesday as part of activities to celebrate Christmas with widows, aged, and vulnerable persons in Ekotedo community.
Mr Oluwole Omofemi, a notable philanthropist and the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Oluwole Omofemi Foundation has in the past provided tuition fees for indigent students to aid their studies through his Foundation’s scholarship scheme.
The over 50 beneficiaries of the Christmas Eve largesse including food items, 5kg bags of rice, spaghetti, cooking sauces and cash tokens, expressed gratitude to God for using Oluwole Omofemi Foundation and its CEO to make their Yuletide worthwhile.
Expressing gratitude for the kind gesture, Mrs Bola Olufemi (a.k.a Channel 10) and her friend Mrs Ayobami Adeoye (a.k.a Yakoyo) described the experience as a pleasant surprise and thanked the sponsor, Oluwole Omofemi even as they urged him to do more. While praying to God to continue to guide and protect him in all his endeavours.
On his part, the maternal grandfather of the sponsor, Pa Adekunle Joseph Oluyemi, said it was one of its kind experience for the widows and vulnerable persons and prayed for more blessings upon Mr Omofemi, thanking him for putting smiles on the faces of women and vulnerable persons in Ekotedo community.
The highlights of the event were the Ijewuru competition, free medical care, empowerment, scholarship, prayers session, dance and thanksgiving from the clearly excited widows who blessed the sponsor and commended the organisers for carrying out an open and transparent exercise to the glory of God.
