MAZI Emma Uche, a South-East chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Tuesday, declared withdrawal of his membership of the party for the Labour Party (LP) in Abia State.
He defected to LP alongside his close political associates and teeming supporters across all local electoral wards in the Arochukwu Local Government Area of the state.
The party chieftain announced the development while addressing a cross-section of journalists on Tuesday.
Mr Uche, a former candidate of the APC during the last local council area elections held in Abia State, cited the persisting and unavoidable internal squabbles ravaging the Abia chapter of the APC that necessitated his action.
He regretted the persisting crisis in the state party chapter which he said has continued to truncate the genuine desire and chances of the APC to win the election and form a government in Abia State.
According to him: “Otti has the required capacity, ability, competence, and expertise to address myriads of challenges impeding growths of the state; and restore the state on the path of economic greatness. He has demonstrated similar strides in private sector-driven administration and economic investments in the country.
“On this basis, I, and my teeming supporters from Arochukwu Local Government Council Area, other numerous members of the APC and supporters decided to identify with competence, because the capacity of the governor-elect is not in doubt, and shall he well replicated immediately the newly elected government is inaugurated.
