Former Senior Special Assistant on Internal Security to Governor Kayode Fayemi, Adesokan Israel Adedeji (JARU), has declared support for the governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Chief Segun Oni, whom he described as a visionary leader.

Adesokan is the second member in Governor Fayemi’s to publicly declare support for the governorship ambition of former governor, Chief Segun Oni.

Only yesterday, Eighteen-Eleven Media reported the resignation of Olaiya Kupolati from the Ekiti State cabinet. Kupolati served as the Senior Special Assistant to the governor on Electoral Matters,

Announcing his defection to the SDP at his ward in Iye Ekiti, IlejemejeCouncil Area, Kupolati hinged his decision to pitch tent with former governor Segun Oni on his uncompromising integrity, experience and pedigree.

Kupolati said: ” I perceive former governor Segun Oni as the best man for Ekiti after Governor Fayemi at this trying time and I am ready to support him.

“The former governor is a man of the people. A man of integrity, with unblemished records. He has a better pedigree. He performed very well while in office in his first term, so he deserves reelection by every standard.

“I am also following the trend in town, especially my people in Ilejemeje, they are totally for Segun Oni and as a good leader and community person, I don’t want to work against the wishes of my constituents “, Kupolati stated.

Meanwhile, Adesokan has asked his supporters to vote for the SDP in the June, 2022 gubernatorial election in Ekiti State.

“This afternoon, I joined the SDP and I am here to talk about rebuilding the real Ekiti, revitalizing our democracy, and winning the future for my Ekiti people.”

Adesokan stated this when he addressed journalists Thursday evening in his hometown, Ward A Iyin, Irepodun Ifelodun, Ekiti State.

He affirms that only the SDP can solve the damning challenges facing the state, as other parties have failed abysmally in the task of providing a better life for the people and building infrastructure.

Adesokan expresses optimism that the  SDP and Chief Segun Oni would win the hearts and votes of Ekiti people as it has stood by the people in times past and attended to the people’s pressing needs.

“Other parties only see our people as pawns and stooges that they can manipulate and play during elections. Only Chief Segun Oni under the aegis of the Social Democratic Party is a viable alternative that will bring about panacea (sic) to the challenges facing us as a people.

“Civil servants, artisans, teachers, and other salary and wage earners have all expressed their discontent and dissatisfaction with the current administration. They have spoken with one voice and expressed their overwhelming and unshakeable support for Chief Segun Oni, the leader who served them and provided the best welfare package when he was governor. They would be happy to see him re-elected as governor”, he stated.
