Breaking: Finidi George Lands Rivers United Coaching Job 

IMMEDIATE past Coach of the Super Eagles, Finidi George, has been appointed coach of former Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Rivers United.

A reliable source told Eighteen-Eleven Media Tuesday that the former Enyimba FC gaffer has held a meeting with Rivers State governor Sir Siminalayi Fubara and he is billed to be unveiled before the end of the week. 

George unceremoniously quit his Super Eagles job after just two competitive matches and two friendlies where he recorded a win, a draw and two losses. 

Rivers United ended the NPFL 2023/2024 season in 8th position, 17 points behind league Champions – Enugu Rangers, and hope Finidi’s appointment will take them back to the top of  Nigerian football.

Finidi won the NPFL with Enyimba International in the 2022/2023 season and spent almost three years at the club before taking on a full-time role with the Super Eagles.
