THE Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has formally declared ex-Kogi State governor, Yahaya Bello wanted.

In a post on its social media platforms, The anti-graft agency says Mr Bello is wanted in connection with offences relating to economic and financial crimes to the tune of N80.2 Billion.

This declaration followed the inability of the former governor to appear before Justice Emeka Nwite of a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja on Thursday for his arraignment over alleged N84bn money laundering.

In the post, the anti-graft agency urged Nigerians with useful information about Bello’s whereabouts to report to nearest police station.

“Anybody with information as to his whereabouts should report immediately to the Commission or the nearest Police station”, the Commission stated in the post.

Ahead of the planned arraignment, operatives of the EFCC, Department of State Services (DSS), Police and other security agencies on Wednesday besieged Bello’s Abuja residence.

He was, however, sneaked out of the building by the incumbent governor of Kogi State, Usman Ododo
