Busted: Serial Phone Theft Nabbed In Lagos
Twenty-five-year-old Chinedu Ike was sometime in September 2022 rescued from jungle justice by men of the Lagos State Rapid Response Squad (RRS) patrol team in Iyana Oworo over the theft of a mobile phone.
He was on that occasion beaten to a coma by an irate mob before he was rushed to the hospital by the RRS patrol team. He was discharged after some days.
However, on Monday, adopting his usual style, he sneaked into a parked car to steal the driver’s mobile phone in Iyana Oworo.
He was arrested by RRS officers when those who knew Chinedu hinted to the driver to check his phone.
RRS officers recovered the driver’s Infinix Note 10 from Chinedu’s bag.
A statement by the special anti-crime squad said he has been sentenced without giving further details.
