The Sokoto State Chief Imam, Dr Sheikh Mansour has called on Nigerian Police Force to immediately release those arrested over the gruesome murder of Deborah Samuel, a 200-Level student of the Shehu Shagari College of Education, Sokoto.

The Imam also called for the immediate reopening of the school which was shut by the school authority following the barbaric act.

Eighteen-Eleven Media also gathered that some Sokoto residents are planning a mass protest over the arrest of the suspected killers of the female student. They reportedly insist that the suspected killers were ‘defending Islam and Prophet Muhammad’.

Deborah was stoned to death on Thursday morning within the premises of the school and her body was later set ablaze for allegedly blaspheming Prophet Muhammed.
