FG De-Lists Naira From P2P Platforms

EMOMOTIMI Agama, the Director General of the Securities and Exchange Commission has announced the federal government of Nigeria’s decision to remove the Naira, the country’s official currency, from all peer-to-peer (P2P) exchanges.

Agama disclosed this during a virtual conference with blockchain stakeholders on Monday.

This resolution aims to combat the manipulation of the local currency’s value in the foreign exchange market.

In the past months, the nation’s regulatory bodies have started looking into and closely examining cryptocurrency exchanges.
