THE Kano State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) State Working Committee has taken serious actions against several Ganduje Ward leaders who had previously suspended the party’s National Chairman, Umar Abdullahi Ganduje.

The APC’s Ganduje Ward in Dawkin Tofa Local Government Area earlier today pronounced the suspension of Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje over an allegation of involvement in bribery, but the party’s local government office has now countered the suspension and instead sacked those responsible.

The APC Dawakin Tofa Local Government Chairman, Inusa Suleiman Dawanau, told reporters that those responsible for the National Chairman’s suspension were involved in anti-party activities, with their records of meetings with the opposition disclosed.

Adopting suspension of the Ward APC leaders behind the suspension of the National Chairman of the party, Ganduje, the State Working Committee said they have been sanctioned for six months and a special investigations panel has been set up to verify several allegations against them.

The Kano Chairman of the party, Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas, said that they have since adopted the decisions of the local government party leaders and that they are now investigating the alleged anti-party activities of the culprits.

“We have evidence of meetings between the state government officials and those that suspended the National Chairman, and the State Working Committee has agreed to sanction them for six months and they stand for now suspended.”

Halliru Gwanjo had earlier said they decided to suspend Dr Ganduje from the party due to the allegations levels against him by the Kano State government on bribery, and suspension started today 15 April 2024.

But the State Working Committee said the suspension is invalid and null and void cannot stand.
