NIGERIA’s ex-football star and Olympic gold medalist, Kanu Nwakwo has denied that he endorsed the candidature of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed for president in next month’s election.

Papilo, as he is popularly known, in reaction to a video posted by Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council Director of Communication, Bayo Onanuga on his Twitter handle described it as fake news. He warned that his name should not be used to campaign for any politician.

In a one-minute eighteen seconds video, the two-time African best player said he is for the best presidential candidate which Nigerians know. He advised Nigerians to know the fake news spread in the video posted by Mr. Onanuga and get their PVCs to vote for the best candidate.

In the video posted by Mr. Onanuga, Kanu was seen saying that he will vote for the former governor of Lagos State because he helped him with Five Million Naira when he was starting his heart foundation.

“Hello, my country people. Do what is right and vote. Kindly stop spreading fake news in my name that I ask you to vote for anyone. Am not the one to choose who you will vote for so stop this rubbish with my name and go and get your PVC and vote. Am not a politician.”
