DARE-DEVIL armed robbers have thrown the families of two security guards of a company in the Ijako area of Otta into mourning.

The late guards, Ezekiel Gboyega Ogunbakin, 64, and Sunday Emmanuel, were tied hands to the back and clubbed to death, while goods worth several millions of Naira were reportedly carted away.

The ugly incident occurred at Skiddo Foods in Ijako, off Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway in late April.

Meanwhile, a staff of the company, Udoh Andrew, has been arrested and transferred to the state headquarters of the Ogun State Police Command.

Udoh’s arrest, according to a family source, was on account of pre-death threats the late Ogunbakin severally received from both the suspect (Udoh) and the company’s supervisor.

According to the source, the late Ogunbakin informed his wife and pastor that Udoh, also a staff member of the company, as well as the supervisor (name unknown), often approached him to conspire with them to steal from the company.

Ogunbakin was said to have disapproved of such a criminal act and told his wife that he was going to resign from the company at the end of April 2024.

Unfortunately, he did not live to the end of the month.

Police investigation, however, revealed Udoh’s alleged complicity in the heinous crime, leading to his arrest.

Meanwhile, the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Omolola Odutola, when contacted on the phone, said she was not aware of the incident.

However, the remains of the late Ogunbakin were committed to Mother Earth on Saturday, 20 April 2024 at Olujobi Street Complex, Itori in the Ewekoro Local Government Area of the state.
