Ondo State Socialite Machetes Wife To Death, Commits Suicide 

ONDO State-based socialite and owner of Emirate Petrol and Gas Station, Sesan Adelabu reportedly machete his wife, Boluwatife to death and thereafter committed suicide.

Sesan, otherwise known as Emirate, was said to have drunk a popular poisonous substance after macheting his wife to death.

The incident happened in the Alagbaka area of Akure late Friday.

A source who confirmed the incident said there had been no love lost between the couple in recent times.

“I can’t confirm what led to this, but I know the two of them had not been on good terms recently. It’s a sad one for us tonight, especially we members of his club,” he said.

Meanwhile, another source claimed the oil dealer caught his wife in their matrimonial bed with the security guard. This has not been independently verified.

The deceased was the owner of the popular Emirate Gas and Petrol Station located in the heart of Akure city.

It was gathered that the corpses of the couple had been deposited in a hospital morgue by the police.

Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, Police spokesperson in Ondo State, could not be reached immediately for comment.

However, a top senior police officer said that detectives from the state command have visited the scene, and an investigation has begun.

The tragic development came barely two months after a popular Akure socialite, Sunday Bayo, otherwise known as ‘Sayo,’ was killed in a brothel at Ijapo Estate in Akure.
