One Dead As Robbers Raid First Bank And Access Bank In Kogi
TRAGEDY struck the peaceful town of Anyigba in the Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State earlier today as armed robbers launched a brazen assault on two major banks, leaving the community in shock and mourning the loss of a life.
In a violent spree that disrupted the serenity of the day, the criminals targeted First Bank and then Access Bank, carrying out successful robberies at both locations.
According to an eyewitness account, the violent encounter claimed the life of Mr. Danlami, a staff member of Access Bank, who served as a security guard. He was fatally gunned down by the armed robbers during their attack, casting a shadow of grief over the town and his colleagues.
A close friend of the late Mr. Danlami said that Mr. Danlami, until his death, was the breadwinner of his family. He left behind a wife, three children and relatives.
The day’s tranquillity was shattered by the sound of gunfire, spreading panic among the residents as the robbers executed their meticulously planned heist. The community has been left reeling from the rapid unfolding of these violent events.
In a prompt response to calls for assistance, Nigerian Navy personnel were dispatched to the scene, engaging the robbers in a fierce gun battle. The conflict between the security forces and the robbers continues as efforts are being made to secure the area and apprehend those responsible for this heinous crime.
