IT is no longer news that the hearing of the petition of Mr Peter Obi at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Abuja has been shifted to continue on Wednesday 17 May.
According to the report, the court acceded to the request for adjournment by counsel to Mr Peter Obi.
However, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who is also a legal practitioner, Jesutega Onokpasa has claimed that Mr Peter Obi and his counsel are not prepared for the legal tussle.
According to him, for them (Peter Obi’s counsel) to ask for adornment could only mean one thing, they are not ready for the titanic legal battle.
He said they are the same people asking for an accelerated hearing yet they are asking for adjournment.
“The people that have been clamouring for a quick trial. They even said the trial could be concluded within seven days but these people that took us to court are not prepared which is why they are asking for adjournment. I told you before that there is really no case. These things take time, they require due diligence”, Onokpasa said during an interview on TVC.
