Abure Remains National Chairman, Labour Party Insists

THE beleaguered opposition party, the Labour Party (LP) has insisted that embattled Barrister Julius Abure remains its National Chairman,

The party, in a statement signed by Obiora Ifoh, Ag. National Publicity Secretary said Justice Hamza Muazu of a Federal Capital Territory High Court today said he will go ahead to hear the motion by a group loyal to the suspended Deputy National Chairman, Lamidi Apapa against some of the party leaders including Julius Abure and three others, he, Abure remains National Chairman of the party pending the final determination of the matter.

“In his Lordship ruling, he said that he will go ahead to hear the substantive matter. The matter has been adjourned to Friday, 19 May for further deliberation. Today’s sitting is not for judgment as Apapa’s group is peddling in their usual way of misinforming Nigerians but purely for the purpose of determining the jurisdiction of the court.

“However, we have appealed the ruling immediately because we know we will not get justice from the court”.
