PRESIDENT Adama Barrow has vowed that The Gambia will continue to work with Senegal regardless of who is president of Senegal.

Calling President Bassirou Diomaye Faye “my younger brother” on Saturday as the new Senegalese leader visited The Gambia, President Barrow said: “Presidency is transitional. Anybody who thinks his presidency will not end is fooling himself. Our predecessors’ presidencies ended. We will go too. Everybody should cast his mind to that and proceed with care and do the right thing.

“So I welcome my younger brother and assure him that Gambia will continue to work with him, in peace and in respect. It’s only peace that can exist between Gambia and Senegal.”

The Gambia is the closest country to the Republic of Senegal both as West African states.
