THERE have been mixed reactions from concerned citizens as the news made it to the public that the newly inaugurated Governor of Zamfara State, Dauda Lawal made a declaration of Nine Trillion Naira in cash, investment and property assets.

The Code of Conduct Bureau had mandated all the newly elected and returning governors, their deputies, President and Vice President to make their asset declaration submitted to the bureau before 29th May 2023 when they were sworn in.

Many citizens were surprised when it was disclosed that Governor Dauda Lawal claimed he is worth N9,000,000,000,000.00.

Dauda Lawal was a former Executive Director at the First Bank of Nigeria Plc. He also worked sometimes with the former Minister of Petroleum, Allison Madueke.

Unfortunately, the richest person in Africa, Aliko Dangote is currently valued to be worth 13.5 billion dollars by Forbes. The next to Aliko Dangote on the Forbes list is Johann Rupert and Family who are jointly worth 10.7 billion dollars.

When converted to US Dollars, Dauda Lawal’s Nine Trillion Naira is equivalent to about 12 billion dollars, which is supposedly second to Aliko Dangote and richer than Abdulsamad Rabiu who is currently worth 7.6 billion dollars and Mike Adenuga who is currently valued to worth 6.3 billion dollars.

Reactions From The Citizens Read:

Enitan Oyekanmi: Where are the companies and tax certificates for the companies and where are they located?

King Marvel: His declaring future stolen asset. He won’t have over $12bn and dare go into politics. All lies.

Mgbojikwe: He’s declaring what he plans to steal

Olakunle Don: I did not get it, 9 trillion or billion? That is like the budget of Lagos for 6 years and Nigeria for 3 years and that of Zamfara State for almost 20 years. Where is DANGOTE self?
