Former Vice President and the presidential candidate of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has been advised to back out of the 2023 presidential election race.

Chief spokesperson and Director of Public Affairs of the Tinubu-Shettima Presidential Campaign Council, Festus Keyamo (SAN) gave the advice following Alhaji Atiku’s comment that: “the Igbos can only become president after he must have completed his tenure”.

While addressing South-East PDP stakeholders, Atiku had claimed his great relationship with the Igbos would continue until they assume the Presidency after his tenure.

Reacting to the comment, Keyamo reminded the PDP presidential candidate that he has had all his shots at the Presidency and obviously had no bullets left for another shot, especially the 2023 presidential election.

He further advised the PDP presidential candidate to leave the field and allow those new to the presidential race to also have their time.

Mr Keyamo further said that as though confirming his position that Atiku has nothing left to offer, he said the PDP in its first campaign advert has borrowed @officialABAT Lekki Bridge in Lagos, as material in the poster.

In a tweet on his official Twitter handle, the Tinubu-Shettima Presidential Campaign Council Director of Public Affairs teased the PDP that after scouting from Delta to Adamawa, they couldn’t find material to campaign with other than @officialABAT Lekki Bridge in Lagos.

He described the move as a recipe for disaster for PDP. His tweet reads: “You all, please come and see something! In their first campaign advert, after scouting from Delta to Adamawa, seeing nothing to campaign with, Atiku and Okowa had to borrow @officialABAT Lekki Bridge in Lagos as campaign material. Chai! This is a disaster for PDP!”
