Pacy Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan winger, Opeoluwa Olufemi, has revealed his excitement as he returned to action after missing out for long due to injury.

The forward made his first appearance this season, coming on as a second-half substitute in the Oluyole Warriors’ 3 – 0 win over Lobi Stars of Makurdi, in a matchday 23 encounter played last Saturday at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan.

In a chat with the media, shortly after the match, Opeoluwa, who was Shooting Stars’ top scorer in the Nigeria National League (NNL) three seasons ago, said his happiness knew no bound when he was called upon to join the action last Saturday.

“I feel very great and excited returning to the pitch after a long injury had kept me out. The feeling was incredible and I am very happy it happened on a day we secured a very important win”, said the soft-spoken forward.

Narrating his feelings during the period he was out of action, Opeoluwa, who almost marked his return with a goal but for Lobi Stars’ goalie, Mustapha Aliko’s reflex disclosed that it was not the best time for him.

“I must confess, all through that period, I was so sad. It hurts when you watch your teammates play and you are not involved. It hurts sitting down and watching from the stands, especially when results are not positive”.

While appreciating God for the privilege to be back, Opeoluwa, also expressed appreciation to the Edith Agoye led technical crew for believing in him, even as he thanked his teammates, the club’s management and the supporters and fans for their concerns and prayers.

He then implored the teeming fans of the club to keep faith with the team, assuring that the Oluyole Warriors will not disappoint them by the time the 2021/22 season of the NPFL will be over.
