THE search for a new Super Eagles coach will soon come to an end after the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Technical Committee recommended three coaches for the consideration of the executive committee.

Top on the list of those recommended is former African Footballer of the Year, Emmanuel Amuneke, former Zambia coach Herve Rernard and Domenec Torrent who once worked as an assistant to Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola,

This followed several hours of deliberation by the eight-man technical committee in Abuja on Thursday.

It is now expected that the NFF will shortly announce its choice for the coveted post.

A source said a painstaking process was done to ensure the interest of Nigeria was paramount in this decision.

According to the source, a majority of the NFF technical committee wants a foreigner, while some powerful hierarchy wants Amuneke.

We all have our interests but Nigeria should always come first” an NFF source stated.

“The many interests this appointment has generated is unprecedented, but it also showed that football truly unites this country.

“And whoever is eventually announced should get the support of all Nigerians so that he can help bring the country some much-needed joy”.

The NFF Technical Committee meeting started at 11am and came to a close at about 6 pm in the evening with the likes of Victor Ikpeba, Felix Owolabi and Chief Felix Anyansi-Agwu in attendance.
