BREAKING: Coup d’etat In Burkina Faso
Heavy gunfire has been heard today, Friday, in Burkina Faso’s capital, Ouagadougou, emanating from both the main military base and some nearby residential areas.
According to Reuters, several armed soldiers were seen close to the presidential palace, some office buildings, and the national television station, which has stopped broadcasting.
The military, led by Colonel Paul-Henri Sandaogo Damiba, seized power in a coup in January, ousting President Roch Kabore.
