Eight Family Members Die In Imo Auto Crash
NO fewer than eight family members travelling home for the New Year celebration have died in an auto crash in Imo State.
The incident occurred at 3 pm on Friday at Amanwozuzu Junction in the Ikeduru Local Government Area of Imo State.
The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of Ikeduru Local Government Area, Lucky Ahiole confirmed the development.
Ahiole said the accident, which occurred at about 3 pm, resulted in the death of all eight persons in a Sienna car conveying the family.
He said the Sienna vehicle collided with a stationary truck conveying rods, resulting in the death of the victims.
“Eight died and we have taken them to a morgue,” the DPO said.
“We had to break the Sienna vehicle to bring out the dead bodies.”
The rod pierced the bodies of the victims and all of them died on the spot.
