Female Police Officer Shoots Self Dead After Posting ‘Sweet Bye Bye’ Lyrics
AT the Kiandutu Police Station in Thika, a police officer Friday shot herself dead.
Irene Wangari Migongo committed herself, according to the Commanding Officer, at around 9:45 a.m.
Officer Peter Muigai Njoroge, who was at the time in his residence inside the station, reported the occurrence.
Njoroge claimed that he called the OCS after hearing a loud commotion emanating from Migongo’s home.
When they went to look, they discovered the dead man lying on the ground with his face upward.
“Besides her was the Steyr rifle which the officer was issued as she was preparing to report on today’s (Friday) patrol duties,” police said.
Officers at the scene of the crime determined that Migongo shot herself in the chest and died instantly.
The 19 rounds in the weapon were retrieved for additional administrative action.
Her coworkers claim that the deceased never showed any symptoms of stress, therefore police have not yet been able to determine what caused the tragedy.
“The only message she posted yesterday (Thursday) at 8:26 pm on her mobile status read, “Because tomorrow may never be mine”, accompanied by the song ‘Sweet bye bye’,” police added.
Since then, Migongo’s body has been taken to the funeral home at Kenyatta University.
