The victims were prior to their rescue reportedly held hostage for one month in Kare Kukanka Forest, a camp controlled by a notorious bandit leader, popularly known as “Bello Maibille”.

In the statement, the PPRO stated that the victims were abducted by armed bandits/terrorists and taken to the forest, where they spent one month in captivity.

The CP, while congratulating the victims for regaining their freedom, assured the public of the Command’s commitment to apprehending the perpetrators of this dastardly act, while also commending the joint Police/vigilante operatives for the job.

CP Kolo, however, enjoined all the inhabitants to be security conscious and report suspicious characters to the Police or any security agency, for prompt action.
