NADEEM Anjarwalla, the fugitive Binance Executive who fled Nigeria in late March has been arrested in Kenya and awaiting extradition.

It was gathered that the arrest of Mr  Anjarwalla was facilitated by the International Criminal Police Organisation (INTERPOL).

A Nigerian government official who confirmed the arrest said: “Yes, he has been arrested by the Kenya Police Service, and he will be extradited to Nigeria this week by INTERPOL.”

Nadeem Anjarwalla, one of the executives from Binance was detained in Nigeria on allegations of tax evasion and other offences but escaped from custody.

Anjarwalla, 38, fled from the Abuja guest house where he and his colleague, Tigran Gambaryan were being held, purportedly taking advantage of a moment during Ramadan prayers when guards escorted him.

Despite his British passport remaining under the control of Nigerian authorities, he was believed to have exited the country using a Kenyan passport.

The detention of Anjarwalla and his colleague, Tigran Gambaryan, unfolded after their arrival on 26 February 2024.

They were promptly subjected to criminal charges, including alleged tax-related offences, leading to their remand by a local court.
