LIVERPOOL manager Jurgen Klopp shrugged off his recent touchline spat with Egyptian winger, Mohamed Salah, labelling it a “non-story” during a press conference, on Friday.

The clash between outgoing coach Klopp and Salah occurred during last week’s 2-2 draw against West Ham, as the winger was preparing to come on as a substitute, in the 79th minute.

Salah appeared to be visibly frustrated and engaged in an animated conversation with Klopp.

However, in a fresh comment Friday, Klopp emphasized that he is focused on the club’s future, now that the pressure of the Premier League title race has been lifted from Liverpool’s shoulders.

He urged his team to rediscover their best form in the remaining games of his tenure at Anfield.

In response to questions about the incident, Klopp stated, “It’s not my subject anymore, these kinds of things. I don’t think I should speak about it, to be honest.”

“The future of the club is what I’m concentrating on, and I’m just trying to help prepare the basis for that,” he added. “The decisions will be made by other people,” Klopp continued.

Klopp assured that the disagreement with Salah would not affect their relationship, given their long-standing history.

If we wouldn’t know each other for that long, I’m not sure how we would deal with it. But we’ve known each other for that long and respect each other too much, so it’s really no problem,” Klopp said.

When reporters attempted to approach Salah for a comment, he briefly stopped but cryptically stated, “There’s going to be a fire today if I speak.”

The 31-year-old has experienced a dip in form lately, scoring only once in his last six matches.

Speculation has arisen about his potential departure from Anfield at the end of the season, with Saudi clubs reportedly expressing interest in securing his signature.
