A Lagos-based public-interest litigator, a senior member of the Ikeja branch of the Nigerian Bar Association, and protégée of the late Gani Fawehinmi (SAN), Barrister Abdulsalam hails from Oke-Apomu Quarters in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital. He was a leading voice in the multi-stakeholder Otoge movement.

The governor, via a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye, said every society needs clear-headed social critics and patriots like Barrister Abdulsalam who understand the complexities of social change and distinguish between the larger community interest and pursuit of personal agenda.

The governor joins family members, friends and associates of Barrister Abdulsalam to thank God for six decades of meaningful life and to rejoice with him on his achievements and the great values he stands for as a Nigerian and a Kwaran.

He prays to Allah to grant Barrister Abdulsalam a long life and happiness in good health as he continues to serve God and humanity with his talents and modest resources.
