Police Inspector, Constable Dismissed In Adamawa For Defamation, Culpable Homicide

ADAMAWA Police Command earlier today announced the dismissal of an Inspector and a Police Constable (both attached to Dumne Divisional Police Headquarters) after being found guilty of discreditable conduct to wit defamation of character, culpable homicide and unlawful exercise of authority. 

Inspector Ahmed Suleiman and Police Constable  Mahmood Muhammed’s actions were said to be at variance with Paragraphs ‘E'(I)(iii) and ‘Q'(I) (iii) of First Schedule of Police Act and Regulations, Section 370, 2020 (as amended). 

The pronouncement was sequel to an orderly room trial conducted by the police hierarchy in the state wherein they answered queries on three count charges,

“The Command found them guilty as charged and recommended the punishment of dismissal for both defaulters. They are to be charged in court alongside other co-suspects”,  a release by the Command stated.  

Meanwhile, the Police Constable has been de-kit while the Inspector will be de-kit after fulfilling some administrative procedures.

The Commissioner of Police CP Afolabi Babatola used the opportunity to warn officers and men of the Command to be punctual and shun all actions incongruous with service rules and that are tantamount to acts of indiscipline.
