A tanker loaded with 33,000 litres of engine oil was involved in a solitary accident and fell sideways at the Abalti Barracks., Ojuelegba, inward Fadeyi end of Lagos.

When men of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) arrived at the incident scene, it was observed that the tanker, with registration number DAL-250ZY, fell as a result of brake failure while trying to ascend the bridge but lost control in the process and fell upside down.

Meanwhile, the Agency’s heavy-duty equipment has been activated for recovery.

Emergency responders at the scene are LASEMA, Lagos State Fire Service, Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), Federal Fire Service and the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).

The Permanent Secretary, LASEMA, Dr Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu, in a statement, said recovery operation was ongoing.
