PRESIDENT Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed self-fulfilment by becoming the sixteenth leader of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

This is as he revealed what he will do to those who contested against him during the 25 February election which include Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party and Peter Obi of the Labour Party.

Tinubu took the oath of office as Nigeria’s 16th President on Monday, 29 May at Eagle Square in the nation’s capital city, Abuja.

Posting after the event on his official Twitter handle, he said today is the proudest day of his life and thanked Nigerians for making it possible.

“This is the proudest day of my life. But this day does not belong to me. It belongs to you, the people of Nigeria,” he tweeted.

Earlier in his inauguration speech, he said he will treat his opponents in the 25th February presidential election with respect, dousing the tension of using his power to fight them.

“My victory does not render me more Nigerian than the rest of you. It also does not render my opponents less Nigerian than me.

“I will treat my opponents, Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar, as important compatriots,” Tinubu said in his inaugural speech.

Atiku and Obi are still in court, where they are contesting the outcome of the election.
