U-20 WC: Flying Eagles Square Up Against Argentina For Q-Final Ticket

THE Flying Eagles of Nigeria have been handed a tough second-round test against Argentina after qualifying as one of the best losers at the ongoing FIFA U-20 World Cup.

Nigeria slipped into the third position in Group D after entering the last group game against Brazil top of the group.

The Flying Eagles defeated the Dominican Republic 2-1, and Italy 2-0 in their first and second games respectively before losing 2-0 to Brazil in their last group game.

Brazil with a superior goal difference finished first, Italy second, and Nigeria third.

Nigeria’s next opponents, Argentina, won all of their games scoring for fun to finish first in Group A and became the first nation to qualify for the knockout stages.

Apart from Nigeria, Gambia, and Tunisia also qualified for the knockout stages with only Senegal, the African U-20 champions, missing out.
