Customs Hands Over 124 Sacks Of Indian Hemp, Others To NDLEA, NAFDAC

In furtherance of interagency synergy, the Federal Operations Unit Zone B Kaduna has handed over seized items to National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and the National Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) in Kaduna.

While handing over 124 sacks of Indian hemp, 104 cartons of African Viagra and other unregistered pharmaceutical products to the two agencies on Thursday, the Comptroller in charge of the Unit Hamisu Albashir informed the public that the Indian hemp was confiscated at Kauran Namoda leading to Zurmi, an area considered to be occupied by bandits and other criminals.

He stated that the Unit considered the interception of illicit products very important considering the consequences on society. The Comptroller added that 104 cartons of unregistered pharmaceutical products were also seized along Gusau-Zaria Road on 23 June 2022.

He further urged the general public to always volunteer information to Customs that will lead to similar arrests even as he assured that such information will be treated with the utmost confidentiality.

Meanwhile, in separate responses, the representative of the NDLEA Commander Kaduna Command, Aliyu Muazu Danmusa as well as the representative of the NAFDAC Kaduna, Mansur Abubakar appreciated the efforts and dedication of officers and men of FOU Zone B Kaduna.
