ADEMOLA Lookman has reminisced on the impact of fans in the 2-0 victory the Super Eagles recorded against their arch-rival, the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon, insisting that the fans pushed the team to the end in the round of 16 tie against the four-time champions.

Speaking with reports in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, the Atalanta winger said, “I love this atmosphere, it’s incredible. Our fans pushed us to the end because this was Cameroon, and when you wear the Super Eagles shirt, some games resonate more than others.”

On the upcoming quarter-final clash at the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) clash between the Super Eagles and the Sable Antelopes of Angola, the winger labelled the central Africans as a ‘good team’.

The two teams will clash at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium, Abidjan Friday night.

Angola have won three of their four games in the competition.

Lookman reckoned Pedro Goncalves’ side will be a tough nut to crack for the Super Eagles.

Angola are a good team. We’ll analyze them and prepare. The further you go, the tougher it gets. So we’ll take it one game at a time,” Lookman told reporters.

The winger, who is playing in his first major tournament with Nigeria, said he is enjoying every bit of his time in Cote d’Ivoire.
