Man Remanded For Allegedly Sexually Assaulting 13-Yr-Old Girl Through The Anus

FOR allegedly defiling and sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl, Justice Abiola Soladoye of a Lagos Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court has remanded a man, Oluwafemi Olumoro, in a correctional facility.
The court ordered his remand yesterday after he pleaded not guilty to a three-count charge brought against him by the state government.
The state Deputy Director of Public Prosecution (DPP), Mr Olusola Soneye informed the court that the defendant allegedly committed the offence sometime in June 2018 at No.7, Church Street, Idera, Owode-Ajegunle in Ikorodu, Lagos.
The defendant was alleged to have defiled a minor by having unlawful sexual intercourse with her.
He was therefore arraigned on a three-count charge bordering on defilement, sexual assault by penetration and assault occasioning harm.
Following his plea of not guilty to the charge, the judge ordered that the defendant be remanded at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre.
She subsequently adjourned the case to 6 May 2024 for commencement of trial.
The prosecution alleged that the defendant sexually assaulted the girl by penetrating her anus with his penis, and added that he beat the girl with a belt which caused injuries to her right eye.
The prosecution counsel said his alleged offence violated the provision of sections 137, 173 and 261 of the Criminal Code Laws of Lagos State, 2015.
